Cayman Islands

The Cayman Islands are three tiny islands northwest of Jamaica. They exist as a British Crown Colony and retain much British culture and ways, as well as a British Head of State. There are numerous attractions for tourists, in addition to the sparkling warm Caribbean waters where fun is the sun is possible every day. Visitors flock to the Cayman Islands for scuba diving and other water sports and find that the land activities are fun as well.

Cayman Islands are known for luxury resorts, excellent diving, and general fun in the sun, but the Turtle Farm is one of the starts of the lineup here. It’s part zoo, part sanctuary and is entirely dedicated to protecting the green sea turtle. This endangered species thrives here at the sancutary, making citizens of the Cayman Islands proud of their part in making the planet a better place.

Another Cayman Islands attraction is the Conch House, which incorporates 2,000 pink conch shells into its decor and structure. It’s absolutely the most unique tourist attraction on the island, hands down!

If you’re stuck on land or need a break from water sports, there are even more things to do on the Cayman Islands besides the Turtle Farm and the Conch House, believe it or not! Try an afternoon at the Cayman Islands National Museum, three levels of history, culture, and fascinating tidbits about life on the Cayman Islands. Then take a side trip over to the Queen Elizabeth II Botanic Park for a look at the gorgeous greenery and plants there. For a tiny three-island colony of only 30,000 residents, that sure is a whole lot of offerings!
